1010 - What is global warming?
Global warming is when the Earth's temperature gets too hot because of bad things people have done to the air around us.
Here's what happens: When we burn things like gasoline, coal, or wood to make energy, it sends bad stuff called greenhouse gases into the air. These gases trap the heat from the sun, making the Earth warmer.
Imagine you're in a car on a sunny day with the windows closed. It gets hot inside, right? That's kind of like what's happening to the Earth.
If we don't stop sending these bad greenhouse gases into the air, the Earth will keep getting warmer and it could cause big problems like really bad storms, melting icecaps, and super hot summers.
