1004 - What is anthropology?

Anthropology is the study of humans, past and present. It's like being a detective, but instead of solving crimes, you learn about people's cultures, customs, languages, and how they lived in different times and places.

There are four main types of anthropology:

  1. Socio-cultural anthropology: studying people's daily lives, traditions, and customs.
  2. Archaeology: studying old things like artifacts and ancient buildings to learn about past civilizations.
  3. Biological anthropology: studying the human body, bones, and DNA to learn about how we evolved.
  4. Linguistic anthropology: studying languages and how people communicate.

Anthropologists want to understand what makes us human and how we're all connected, despite our differences.
